How selling works
Free valuation
Drop in by appointment on weekdays, or call/email to book a slot with our valuer, Nigel Blagburn. We’ll assess your items, discuss estimates and advise on reserves where appropriate. (Valuations are free and there’s no obligation.)
Consign your items
If you’re happy to proceed, we take your items in, photograph and catalogue them, and place them in the next suitable auction.
Auction day
Your lots go live to our local and online bidders. You can follow results in real time on our platforms and view outcomes afterwards.
Payment
After the auction, we settle to you by bank transfer, cash or cheque (your choice). Vendor proceeds are available one month after the sale date. Our commission is 20% + VAT on the hammer price, deducted from your proceeds.
Reserves, unsold lots & charities
Reserves
If you’d like a reserve, we’ll agree it with the auctioneer in writing before the sale.
Unsold items
If a lot doesn’t sell first time, we can re-offer it in a later auction. If it remains unsold, you’re welcome to collect it or donate it to our nominated charity. We can hold unsold items for up to six months.
