At Alnwick Auctions, we offer a curated selection of items, including gold, silver, watches, coins, medals, and antiques. Our auctions are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 AM, providing regular opportunities to acquire distinctive pieces. 

How to Buy 

1. Browse our catalogues: Explore listings on our website, Easy Live Auction, or The Saleroom. Each item is accompanied by images and descriptions. 

2. Register to Bid: Create an account on our platform or through our partner sites. Registration is straightforward and ensures you receive timely updates on upcoming auctions. 

3. Place your Bid: Participate in live auctions or place absentee bids. Our user-friendly interface allows you to monitor bidding activity and adjust your bids in real-time. 

4. Winning the Auction: If you're the highest bidder, you'll receive a confirmation email with payment instructions once the sale ends. 

Important Notice on Bidding Commitment
By placing a successful bid, you enter into a binding agreement with Alnwick Auctions. Our staff invests considerable effort in listing, demonstrating, and managing each lot. As such, bid cancellations are typically not permitted. In rare cases where cancellation is granted, a fee equal to the commission payable on the hammer price will apply to offset incurred costs.

Viewing & Condition Reports 

• Book a Viewing: Although bidding is online only, we welcome prospective buyers to view lots in person by appointment. Contact us to arrange a convenient time. 
• Request Condition Reports: Need more information before bidding? We're happy to provide condition reports and additional photographs on request. 

Payment & Shipping

• Secure payments: We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards up to £300 and bank transfers. 
• Shipping: Items are dispatched promptly using Royal Mail Special Delivery, with insurance coverage up to £2,500 per parcel. Combined postage is available for purchases from multiple sales. 

Buyer's Premium & Online Bidding Fees

At Alnwick Auctions, we believe in clear and transparent pricing, giving you the freedom to choose how you bid with confidence.

• Buyers premium: A standard 20% + VAT buyers premium applies to all successful bids, regardless of bidding method. 
• Leave a Commission Bid: You are welcome to leave a commission bid directly with us. Successful bids placed this way and subject to our standard 20% + VAT buyer's premium, with no additional online platform fees. 
• Bidding through our website or Easy Live Auctions: In addition to the buyer's premium, a 3% + VAT fee is charged for bids placed through our website or Easy Live Auctions. * This fee is collected by the platform provider to cover the cost of hosting and facilitating the online bidding service. Easy Live Auction also offer a flat fee alternative - you can opt to pay £3 per auction and avoid the the percentage based bidding fee. This option is available at registration with Easy Live Auction directly. 
• Bidding via The Saleroom: An additional 4.95% fee applies when bidding through The Saleroom. 

Example: 

If you purchase an item for £100 via our website: 

• Buyers Premium: £20 + VAT
• Online Bidding Fee: £3 + VAT
• Total: £123 + VAT
